Examination Administration.
How examinations are booked, delivered and reported — clearly and consistently.
Overview
A fair exam is also a well-run exam. This policy describes how candidates book, sit and receive results for the PCL-AI, so the experience is clear and consistent for everyone.
At a glance
The candidate experience
- Apply and confirm eligibility, then book a session
- Sit the scenario-based assessment online or at a centre
- Verify identity and follow the examination rules
- Receive a result processed against the standard
Accommodations and results
PCI applies this consistently and records what it does, so the process can be checked and improved. The detail is governed by the related policies linked below and is published as the institute matures.
Common questions
Can I reschedule my exam?
Rescheduling windows and any fees will be published with the examination rules.
How is the exam delivered?
Online under remote proctoring or at approved centres.
How are results decided?
Under the certification-decision policy, against a defined standard.
Why this matters
A certification is only worth holding if it is genuinely hard to fake. That is why every PCI certification rests on an independent, competence-based assessment, a clear standard, and a strict separation between training and the certification decision — so a pass means the same thing for everyone who earns it, and an employer can rely on it without re-testing the person themselves.
PCI builds in the open: candid about what is in place today, designed around the ISO/IEC 17024 personnel-certification principles, and careful never to imply recognition it does not yet hold. That honesty is not a caveat — it is the foundation a credible credential is built on.
- Substance over marketing
- Fair, transparent process
- Honesty about our status
- Responsible, governed use of AI

The administration cycle in detail
Booking & confirmation
Eligibility is confirmed at enrolment; you then schedule a sitting and receive written confirmation of the date, modality and what to bring.
Identity verification
Every sitting begins with an identity check against your enrolment record — the same standard at a centre or online.
Delivery
The exam runs under the published examination rules, identical in content and conditions across modalities.
Incidents
Disruptions — technical failures, interruptions, suspected breaches — are logged at the time and handled under procedure, not improvised.
Marking & results
Responses are marked under controlled procedures and results issued through the published process, with the formal outcome recorded.
Records
Administration records are retained under the records-retention policy — which is what makes appeals and audits possible.
What keeps delivery consistent
Consistency is the point of administration. The same rules, timing and conditions apply to every candidate, and examination security protects the item bank so no candidate faces a compromised — and therefore unfair — exam. Incident logs and candidate feedback are reviewed and feed improvement of the process itself, so administration tightens as the programme matures rather than drifting. Where administration touches a certification outcome, the decision is made under the certification-decision process, not by the person who ran the sitting — separation that protects candidates and the credential alike.
Interruptions, results and retakes
What happens if my exam is interrupted?
Report it immediately. The incident is logged and resolved under procedure, which can include a fresh sitting where the disruption was genuine and material.
How do I receive my result?
Through the results process confirmed at booking. The formally issued result is the authoritative one.
What if I'm unsuccessful?
The retake policy sets out when and how you can sit again — an unsuccessful attempt ends a sitting, not a candidacy.
Keep going
A sitting, end to end
Administration covers identity verification, secure delivery of the correct form, invigilation appropriate to the mode, incident capture, and controlled return of responses. Every sitting produces an administration record; every irregularity — a power cut, a platform fault, an illness — is logged and resolved under written incident rules rather than improvisation.
Results pass through verification before release: script integrity, marking checks and statistical review. Candidates receive outcomes through their dashboard, with review and appeal routes stated alongside. Read with the examination rules.
