An independent standard needs independent support.
PCI takes no ownership from any vendor or employer, and we don't sell the exam preparation. That independence is what makes the credential trustworthy — and it's only possible with the support of the people and organisations who believe project controls deserves a real profession.

Common questions
Are donations tax-deductible?
Not currently. Project Controls Institute Global is a Delaware Non-Stock Corporation that intends to seek tax-exempt recognition under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. That status has not yet been granted, and contributions are not currently represented as tax-deductible.
What would support be used for?
To build the institute properly — developing the credential, the standard, the body of knowledge and a global community — as an independent body.
Is PCI a registered charity?
Not yet. PCI is a Delaware Non-Stock Corporation and a registered nonprofit organisation pursuing applicable U.S. tax-exempt recognition under Section 501(c)(3); until that recognition is granted, donations are not represented as tax-deductible.
Ways to build the standard without writing a cheque
Volunteer expertise
The standard is built by practitioners. Experienced professionals can contribute to item writing, review panels and committee work — governed roles with real responsibility, set out in our committee terms.
Bring your employer
Organisations that adopt the standard strengthen it faster than any individual gift can. Our corporate programmes describe how employers can take part.
Candid feedback
Telling us what is unclear, missing or wrong is a genuine contribution at this stage — a founding-phase organisation improves fastest on honest criticism, and we ask for it deliberately.
What happens to your gift
Every donation is acknowledged, applied to the purposes described on this page, and accounted for through the organisation's normal governance. We report on how funds were used through our annual reports, in the same candid register as everything else we publish: what the money enabled, and what remains unfunded. Two commitments sit underneath that. First, donors are never given influence over certification decisions, examination content or the standard itself — that separation is the point of independent funding, not a side effect of it. Second, if we cannot usefully apply funds to a stated purpose, we say so and explain what happened instead, rather than letting the report go quiet. If you would like your gift applied to a particular purpose described on this page — access and scholarships, say — tell us when you give, and we will confirm whether we can honour that direction before accepting it on those terms.

We state this plainly because it matters to how you plan a gift — if deductibility is important to your decision, the honest advice is to wait, and we would rather say that than take a donation on a misunderstanding. If and when our status changes, we will say so clearly here and in our reporting. We will not describe donations as deductible a day before it is true.
