Is the UAE chapter active yet?
It is being established. PCI builds in the open; chapter registration is open, so you can be part of it from the start.
Do I need to be certified to take part?
No. Chapters are open to everyone with an interest in project controls — practising professionals, people moving into the field, and students alike. You do not need to hold a PCI credential, or even to be working towards it, to take part. Chapters are about community, learning and connection; certification is a separate, independent process, and many members get involved in a chapter long before they ever sit the exam.
What will the UAE chapter do?

A chapter in formation, stated plainly
PCI chapters are member-led communities, not franchises. Each begins as a chapter in formation: a founding group of local professionals, a named coordinator, and a simple charter under PCI’s governance framework. We list a chapter as established only when it has held its first sessions and adopted the charter — we do not publish member counts or activity we cannot evidence.
What a chapter in the United Arab Emirates will do
Peer sessions on real project-controls problems; study circles for PCL-AI candidates; honest conversation about how governed AI is changing planning, cost and risk work locally; and a bridge between practitioners and employers in the United Arab Emirates. Sessions may be in person, online, or both — the founding group decides.

Can I sit a PCI exam from the UAE?

Does UAE project experience count toward eligibility?
Yes. Eligibility is assessed against the published requirements regardless of where the experience was gained. Work on UAE construction, rail, aviation or energy programmes counts on the same basis as experience anywhere else.
Will chapter activity count toward my CPD?
Chapter sessions, study circles and knowledge-sharing can support continuing professional development in line with the CPD framework, provided you record what you did and what you learned.
