Is the Qatar chapter active yet?
It is being established. PCI builds in the open; chapter registration is open, so you can be part of it from the start.
Do I need to be certified to take part?
No. Chapters are open to everyone with an interest in project controls — practising professionals, people moving into the field, and students alike. You do not need to hold a PCI credential, or even to be working towards it, to take part. Chapters are about community, learning and connection; certification is a separate, independent process, and many members get involved in a chapter long before they ever sit the exam.

A chapter in formation, stated plainly
PCI chapters are member-led communities, not franchises. Each begins as a chapter in formation: a founding group of local professionals, a named coordinator, and a simple charter under PCI’s governance framework. We list a chapter as established only when it has held its first sessions and adopted the charter — we do not publish member counts or activity we cannot evidence.
What a chapter in Qatar will do
Peer sessions on real project-controls problems; study circles for PCL-AI candidates; honest conversation about how governed AI is changing planning, cost and risk work locally; and a bridge between practitioners and employers in Qatar. Sessions may be in person, online, or both — the founding group decides.

- Map your current role against the domains of the body of knowledge. Gas, rail and real-estate work each cover some domains deeply and leave gaps in others — find yours early.
- Check the eligibility requirements before you plan study time, so you know which route applies to you.
- Use real project material as revision. Reworking a genuine progress claim or period forecast as an earned-value exercise teaches more than reading alone.
