Eligibility criteria

Honorary Fellow (PCI) recognises senior professionals with a substantial record in the discipline. To be considered, an applicant should meet all of the following:

• At least 8 years of professional experience in project controls, cost control, finance, project management or a closely related field;
• of which at least 3 years at a managerial level (leading teams, functions, programmes or budgets) in one or more of those fields;
• a demonstrable record of distinguished contribution to the profession, supported by a résumé/CV and, where available, academic and professional evidence; and
• a completed application with accurate information and the required declarations below.

Meeting the criteria does not entitle an applicant to recognition. Honorary Fellow (PCI) is conferred at the sole discretion of the board on the merits of each application; PCI may request further information, and may decline any application without stating reasons.

If you are shortlisted

To keep your data to a minimum, we ask for identity documents only if the board shortlists you. Shortlisted candidates receive a secure, personal link to provide a recent passport-style photograph and one valid government-issued ID, and to complete a short truthfulness and background declaration. Those documents are stored securely, seen only by the board, deleted after the decision, and are never requested at this stage. Full detail is in the terms below.

Programme terms & policies

Please read the following before you apply. By submitting an application you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these terms, and to the policies linked below.

• Nature of the recognition. Honorary Fellow (PCI) is an honorary, board-conferred recognition. It involves no examination, is not an examined PCI certification or licence, and does not itself certify competence or constitute accreditation, registration or a professional qualification.
• Discretionary and revocable. Recognition is granted at the board’s sole discretion and may be declined, deferred, or — where it was obtained through inaccurate information or where continued association would be inappropriate — withdrawn, in each case without liability to the applicant.
• Fees. PCI does not charge a nomination, assessment or credential fee for honorary recognition. Honorary credentials are awarded solely on merit following independent review and approval. Optional charges may apply only for printed certificates, international delivery, replacement documents, or attendance at an awards ceremony; payment does not influence the selection or approval decision and creates no entitlement to recognition. Any indicated review time (for example, 15–30 days) is an estimate only and not a commitment.
• Accuracy. You confirm that the information and documents you provide are true, complete and your own, and that you are entitled to share them. Misrepresentation may result in refusal or withdrawal of recognition.
• If your application is successful. Accepted applicants may be issued access credentials to the PCI student portal and given access to the Institute’s learning resources and study materials. Such access is personal, non-transferable, provided on an “as is” basis for the recipient’s own use, and may be varied or withdrawn; it does not confer any examined certification.
• Intellectual property. All study materials and resources remain the property of the Institute (or its licensors). They are made available for personal, non-commercial study only and may not be copied, shared, resold or redistributed.
• Identity verification (shortlisted candidates only). If you are shortlisted, you will be asked — via a secure, one-time personal link — to provide a recent passport-style photograph and one valid government-issued ID, and to complete a truthfulness and background declaration. We apply data minimisation: these are collected only at that stage, we do not record any ID number or document detail (only the image), access is restricted to the board on a need-to-know basis, and the documents are deleted after the verification decision (or sooner on request), subject to any legal retention obligation.
• Background declaration. Shortlisted candidates declare that, to the best of their knowledge, they have not been involved in, convicted of, or currently face undisclosed proceedings for, serious criminal activity materially relevant to PCI’s honorary recognition. PCI does not require details of any such matter and does not carry out criminal-record checks; this is a self-declaration, reviewed by the board with due process and confidentiality.
• Data protection & international processing. PCI processes your application and documents to assess and administer this recognition, in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Data Protection Policy. The Institute operates globally, so your information may be processed or stored in countries other than your own, with appropriate safeguards and in line with applicable data-protection law — including for applicants in Saudi Arabia, the United States and Pakistan. You may request access, correction or deletion, and may withdraw at any time.
• Governing terms. This application is also subject to our Terms of Use, Code of Ethics, Conflict of Interest Policy, Complaints Policy, Appeals Policy and Website Disclaimer. Where permitted by law, the Institute’s liability in connection with this programme is excluded or limited, and nothing here forms a contract of engagement, employment or guaranteed benefit.

PCI may update these terms, the eligibility criteria and the associated benefits at any time. The version in force at the date of your application applies.
